No, the Beetle isn't here yet, but Volkswagen AG have made sure India has something to drool about for now.
At a glitzy function in Mumbai's Grand Hyatt today, the leading European car maker -- the Volkswagen group includes Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, SEAT and Skoda -- unveiled its first India-assembled model, the Volkswagen Passat.
The sleek yet decidedly muscular 2.0 litre Highline Passat is a striking luxury sedan, all-frills enhancing the 140 bhp beast underneath. Before you get all carried away, conscience dictates I mention the price tag: the two models will retail for Rs 22.35 lakhs and 24.35 lakhs apiece.
That said, buckle up.
